  Titans finish 2, 3, 4, at Tri-County

   

      CECI takes team TVRA title, while Dorchester's Aidan Smith fires low score

UNION, Ont. - The Central Elgin Titans finished two-three-four, to win the team title, in 'A' flight, at the Thames Valley Region Athletics (TVRA) Tri-County boys' golf championship, at the St. Thomas Golf and Country Club.

Landon Johnstone led the Titans, with a 18-hole round of 77, one stroke less then Satshia Tep-Chhun and Brady Johnstone, both carding a 78.

Lord Dorchester's Aidan Smith, had the best round, firing a 73, helping his team place second, five shots back of  CECI. Greg Innes, Jayden Boddy and Aidan Roberts, complete the LDSS team.

Parkside CI's Jack Ferguson shot a 79, for fifth place, leading the PCI to third overall.

The top six teams, in 'A' flight and the next four low individuals, not on those teams, advance to the WOSSAA tournament, back here at the Club, Thursday, September 29. The tournament will also feature teams from Huron-Perth and TVRA Central.

Parkside CI (Jack Ferguson, Luke Trowman, Tyson Benwell, Eric Ronayne) placed third, with a score of 262, followed by Woodstock St. Mary's, at 265, Strathroy DCI, 272 and the East Elgin Eagles (Landon Underhill, John Orlebar, Ryan Nancekivell, Tyson Freisinger), 281.

Joining the top six teams, will be St. Joseph's Brett Chapman, Tillsonburg Glendale's Shane Brazier and from Woodstock CI, George Richard and Josh Dowling.

The West Elgin Wildcats' team of Owen Lunn, Josh McQuade, Connor Grexton and Gavin Lunn, won the 'B' flight title. Grexton had the low individual score, for the 'B' flight, while McQuade finished third.

 From WOSSAA, the winning team and the two lowest scores, not on the winning team, advance to OFSAA, the provincial high school championship, at the Kingsville Golf and Country Club, October 11-12.
