ST. THOMAS - Touchdowns in the final seconds of the first half and early third quarter, sparked the South Lions, to a 27-3 win, over the Parkside Stampeders, in their home opener tonight.

South was holding an 8-3 lead, until Zave Allan broke out for a TD run with 17 seconds remaining in the second quarter.

Oliver Griffiths bolted from the Lions' own 30 yard line to the end zone, three minutes into the second half, putting his team up 22-3, following the point after TD.

Griffiths, who also kicked all PATs, added a field goal and Parkside gave up a two-point safety, to complete the Lion's scoring.

Following a game opening rouge by Lions' Kyle Comeau, Zack Copeland put Parkside up 3-1, on a field goal. A LJ Dyer TD gave South back the lead.

The Stampeders visit London Laurier, September 26th. Next home game is against the Medway Cowboys, October 11th.
