TILLSONBURG, ON. - The Parkside Stampeders won both the boys and girls' finals at the Gemini Cup soccer tournament.

The Lady Stampeders won all four of their games, outscoring opponents, 24-0, including blanking London Lucas, 1-0, in the final, in what could be a WOSSAA AAA championship preview.

Savannah Williams scored and Stamps' keeper Aviva Fournie stopped a late second half penalty shot to preserve the shutout and win. Parkside played short one player due to a red card early in the first half.

The ladies silenced host Tillsonburg Glendale, London Clarke Road and London South, in pool action.

Petra Salin led Parkside with six goals, while Williams finished with four. Halle Szabo, Braelyn Dennis and Emelia Marcinkiewicz, each potted three goals. Marin Williams, Hayley Umansky and Klara Lattanzio, each netted two and Kailey Dennis had one.

Fournie, Ashley Watson and Jenessa Davies shared the goaltending duties.

The boys edged London Lucas, 2-1, in their final, on goals by Kaiden Banks and Camden Simda, with a penalty shot.

In pool play, the Stampeders tied both East Elgin and London South, at one, before blanking London Montcalm, 5-0.

Blake Willmore against East and Zeke Gubinczki, scored in the knotted affairs. Gubinczki, Evan Geurts, Colby Latella, Myles Vaughan and Shemar Green hit mesh against Montcalm, while goalie Rudy Bukich posted the shutout.

East Elgin's boys and girls teams, St. Joseph's Rams' boys and West Elgin Wildcats' girls, were all participants.
