LONDON, Ont. - The Parkside Stampeders fared well with only 11 wrestlers on the mats.
The Stampeders placed third at the Thames Valley Regional Athletics Dual meet championship, at Banting secondary school.
The host Broncos, with 21 athletes competing, won the title, with London Montcalm placing second.
This meet features the top four schools going head to head. Parkside, seeded fourth lost their semifinal to Banting, before defeating London Lucas for the bronze position.
Each wrestler who wins a match earns five points for the school. A team picks up three points in each weight class, if the opposing school doesn't have a competitor for their athlete to fight.
Parkside was 5-3 in actual matches fought against Banting, with Mandy Penner, Ayat Master, Jeremy Anderson, Zoey Astley-Duncan and Tyler Dale, picking up victories.
Owen Dale and Kira Buck won against Lucas, to decide third place.
