McCaw swimming as good as 1-2-3 

  Parkside swimmer leads local competitors at TVRA with trio of top three results

LONDON, Ont. - Rosie McCaw and Alexis Gray are in the fast lane to a third consecutive OFSAA.

The two swimmers from Parkside CI each had a strong meet at the TVRA championships, January 14-15, at the Canada Games Aquatic Centre in London.

Qualifiers in all races move on to WOSSAA, back here February 11. McCaw won the 15 years and over girls 50 free in 30.43 seconds, took second in the 50 fly (33.73 sec.) and finished third in the 100-metre I.M. (1:20.96).

Gray finished second in both the 15 years and over girls 200 free and 100 free and finished third in the 100 back.

Two years ago as juniors, McCaw won OFSAA gold for the 100 I.M. and placed fourth in the 50 back. Gray had a pair of top 12 results, finishing sixth in the 50 back and 12th in the 50 free.

In 2024 as first year seniors, McCaw won the 50 fly B final, placing ninth overall. Gray was 34th in the 50 free and 52nd in the 50 back.

This year OFAAA is at the Pan Am Games Sports Complex in Toronto, March 4-5.

Several Parkside Stampeders will join teammates McCaw and Grey at WOSSAA.

Katie Dimitroff had three top 10 results in open girls, finishing sixth in the 100 fly, eighth in the 100 I.M. and 10th in the 50 free. Beavers teammate Ava Ridley, in open girls, was seventh in the 200 free, 13th, in the 100 free and 17th in the breaststroke.
