ST. THOMAS - Colin Sinclair has received one of the top coaching awards in Canada.

The president of the St. Thomas Curling Club, received a 2021 Community National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) Coach Developer Award, from the the Coaching Association of Canada.

The award recognizes individuals who have gone above and beyond to develop NCCP coaches.

"It was a complete and pleasant surprise for me. It is certainly gratifying to be recognized for something that I thoroughly enjoy being a part of,' said Sinclair.

Sinclair received his award from Sean Turriff, Manager - High Performance, with the Ontario Curling Council during Curling Day in Canada, at the St. Thomas Club, February 5.

"One of my major take always throughout these years is that I have learned something new during each course and that I have met and interacted with so many interesting people, Sinclair said. "It's very satisfying to know that we have many qualified and enthusiastic coaches in Ontario that will be helping develop curlers and teams throughout their careers,"

Sinclair has been an integral part of delivering 43 NCCP coaching courses since 2009, helping hundreds of curling coaches embark on their coaching careers.

"The thing that has motivated me over the years in coaching and in coach development is knowing that I have contributed, in a small way, to help coaches and by extension athletes to develop both life and sporting skills.

For me there is a great deal of satisfaction in helping people achieve their goals."
