St. Thomas hosts playoffs September 4th/5th at the Tarry Complex

ST. THOMAS - A first place finish has allowed the St. Thomas Cardinals to host the 12U playoffs.
The Cardinals wrapped up their exhibition schedule, finishing at 8-2, defeating Brantford on the road, before splitting a double-header with Hamilton, at the Tarry Complex on Saturday.
St. Thomas will host their semifinal, Friday, September 4th, at 7 p.m. A win advances the team to the final, Saturday at noon. Semifinal losers will play a consolation final.
In game one against Hamilton, the Cardinals took advantage of 11 walks handed out by the visiting pitching staff, for a 16-4 victory.
The Cardinals also slapped out 10 hits, including multi RBI triples from Hayden Burrows and Tayven Barned, who finished with four and three RBI, respectively. Nathan Watson and Aaron Dyke, both drove in two runs.
Parker Vaughan had a pair of hits and Cam Morrison and Mason Beechey, each drew two walks.
Dyke tossed a complete four inning game, allowing one run, on six hits, striking out two batters and walking three.
Hamilton edged St. Thomas, in a wild shootout, 13-12, in game two.
At Brantford on August 26th, the Cardinals scored three runs in both third and fourth innings, on way to a 9-3 win.
Luke Ordroneau took the win, working four innings, allowing two runs on four hits, striking out three batters and walking none. Watson finished the game, tossing two innings, surrendering one run on three hits.
Barned led the Cardinals' offence going three-for-four, driving in two runs and scoring twice. Dyke (2/3, run) and Wyatt Atchison (2/2, RBI), both had two hits.
