   Barned helps lead St. Thomas to a pair of wins to improve to 6-1

ST. THOMAS - Thanks to a pair of 10 run games, the St. Thomas Cardinals' U12 team has improved to 6-1 for the season.

Tayven Barned belted a home run and added a single, collecting four RBI, to lead the Cardinals to a 10-5 win in game one against the Brantford Jr. Red Sox.

Luke Thomas had a double, single and a base on balls, while Nathan Dunn delivered a RBI double. Nathan Watson was one-for-two, with a walk and one RBI.

Cam Morrison worked five innings, allowing five runs, two earned, on four hits and four walks, while striking out three batters.

Brantford led 5-1, heading into the home half of the third inning, before the Cardinals exploded with three runs in the third and six more in the fourth inning.

Each team made three errors.

Barned tossed a shut out in game two, a 10-0 mercy win in five innings. Barned whiffed 10 batters, while allowing three hits and one base on ball.

Dunn went two-for-three, with two RBI, Luke Ordronneau had a base clearing triple, finishing with four RBI, while Thomas had a pair of singles. Cooper Henderson chipped in with a double and two walks and Hayden Burrows was one-for-two, with a stolen base.
