NIAGARA FALLS, Ont. - Alex Pettipiece is the MVP for the Provincial Junior Hockey League (PJHL) Bloomfield division.
The Dorchester native led the Niagara RiverHawks, with 19 goals and 14 assists in 29 games this season.
"I was just glad to do it with such a great team and every person has helped me with achieving the award this year," said Pettipiece, an assistant captain with Niagara. "In my mind what stood out, is even after an injury in the first 10 games, I was able to really pick it up late in the season and win the first playoff series for the Riverhawks in over 10 years."
Niagara eliminated Port Dover in six games before falling to Grimsby in five games. Pettipiece had eight goals and six assists over the 11 games.
Pettipiece, 21, started his junior career with the Dorchester Dolphins, playing six games during both the 2016-17 and 2017-19 seasons. In 2018-19, Pettipiece had five goals and 11 assists in 19 games.
With Niagara for the 2019-20 season, Pettipiece had 12 goals and 15 assists, in 27 games, earning him the RiverHawks' rookie of the year.
