Palajsa, boys' singles winner, among Beavers advancing from the East qualifier

WOODSTOCK, Ont - Luca Palajsa and the mixed doubles team of Caleb Steyaert and Avery Henschel, will lead the Lord Dorchester Beavers to the South-East junior badminton championships.
Palajsa, in boys' singles and Steyaert and Henschel, won at the Thames Valley Region Athletics (TVRA) East Division junior qualifier, Tuesday, at College Avenue high school.
Other Dorchester players advancing are Leland Kernohan and Nate Coppola, in men's singles, the girls' doubles team of Jocelyn Pollard and Emily Devine and two mixed doubles teams, Josh White and Andie Morrison, and Jacob Delaney and Maddie Greenfield.
Palajsa beat Kernohan, in the boys' singles final.
The top four from girls' singles, boys' singles, girls' doubles, boys' doubles and mixed doubles, advance to the South-East championships, Thursday, at Parkside C.I.
Qualifiers from the South-East meet move on to WOSSAA, May 3, at Saunders secondary school, in London.
